The Emma Elsie Schell Dudley Scholarship Foundation (EESDSF) was created to pay homage to and honor a brilliant mathematical mind; an astonishing heart; a warming servants' spirit; a woman of God with the passion for helping others to achieve greatness in spite of themselves; and a mother to many for over 50 years.

The EESD Scholarship Foundation, inspired by such a great leader, awards a $5,000 scholarship each year to a deserving student. To find out more, please visit our contact page. On-line applications available now.

God's servant, Mrs. Emma Dudley, is the fourth child of the eight children born to Roberta Morrison-Schell and Sylvester Schell, Sr. She is the wife of Mr. Lawyer Dudley, Jr. and the mother of Calvin (Tanzie) Ponder and she has two beautiful grandchildren, Ashantee and Darryain Ponder.
The honoree, Mrs. Dudley, has always had high aspirations and a great deal of talent, but has not always had an abundance of resources. Her success has been driven by one simple fact- "Whatever she does, she commits all of her heart and soul to it." She strives beyond the standards of ordinary and almost always reaches the extraordinary; and, she makes it look effortless.
Emma Dudley has accumulated a number of accolades in education and in community service. She received her undergraduate degree from Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. Subsequently, Mrs. Dudley went on to obtain degrees and certifications from Atlanta University and South Carolina State College, including a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics. AS-5 in Administration and a TS-6 in Mathematics.
She has also had a major impact on students as an employee (or volunteer) at Emmanuel County High School, Landmark Christian Academy, Campbell High School, Eva Thomas High School, McClarin High School, Clark College Upward Bound, Georgia Baptist and Christian City Children's Homes. In these settings, she served as a Math Instructor, Math Department Chairperson, Career Counselor, test reviewer, and tutor.
Mrs. Dudley not only aimed high educationally, she gave back to the community, not always with money, but with her time and mathematical talent. The community has thanked her repeatedly by lifting her name as "Woman of the Year," "The Greatest Teacher Award," coordinator of the Comprehensive Math and Science Project (New York), a special proclamation from the city of College Park, and various other community service awards.
Nonetheless, what most sets Mrs. Emma Elsie Schell Dudley, educator, mentor, friend and family member, in the position of honor is her Godly attitude towards finishing the job. As an educator, whether the child has exceptional gifts or experiences learning challenges, Mrs. Dudley's love for children allows her to stay the course. She believes and embraces the ideal that "an effective teacher does not leave work at the end of the day and not think about it until the next morning." Her life's work is exemplified by Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord."

Mrs. Dudley- We Salute You! Thank you for your contributions!
